No sooner had El Gouna completed the downtown bridge connecting the downtown plaza with the pedestrian zone, that complaints started to be heard: it was too steep for pedestrians, it was ugly, it was unnecessary. Cars were seen driving underneath it slightly confused, unsure of which direction to take.   Fast forward one month, and Orascom have completed engineering changes to the bridge, transforming into a version 2. This time, a more pleasant and functional structure.  All of a sudden, the ramp up to the bridge is less steep, smoother and more gradual. Gone are the horizontal wooden anti-slip traction treads (unnecessary now as the slope is less steep).  The wood on the bridge is of better quality.  Moreover, the bridge was made wider.  As a result, the bridge height will only allow a maximum height of a 2.3m vehicle underneath. Kindly be informed that in order to develop the infrastructure of the Marina Hill project, some works (including drilling works) will take place on the road of the duty free shop starting  from Thursday, June 30th, 2018  until approximately July 25th , 2018 . Please note that there will be a well-lit parking lot up the Marina Hill for all the cars during the time of construction. As per attached map, during the above mentioned period, the duty free shop road will be only a “one way road” to access the marina. Kindly be informed that due to the adjustment of the downtown bridge, the tunnel will be closed as of June 19th , till Friday, June 29th, 2018.  Please be notified that cars will not be allowed to use the parking spaces in the B.TECH area, as the new bridge will be installed between 9:00 PM and 11:00 AM the next morning. As for the access to El Kafr Area, kindly use the existing alternative road behind Arena Inn Hotel.  Thanking you for your kind understanding and support. Customer Services
