Mr. Mahmoud El Baroudi, General Manager of El Gouna has communicated in an email to homeowners new utility prices. Based on the government increase in Electricity prices that took effect July 1st, 2017 and the knock on effect to water preparation and delivery costs, new prices of El Gouna Electricity and Water will be applied, from July invoices, as follows: Electricity,  EGP 1,35 per KW hour (previously EGP 0.95 KW/Hr, which represents a 40% increase). Soft Water,  EGP 20 per cubic meter (previously EGP 18 per cubic meter, which represents an 11% increase).  Irrigation Water, EGP 6,25 per cubic meter (previously EGP 5 per cubic meter, which represents a 25% increase.)

As you may know, a TNR (Trap Neuter and Return) project has been ongoing and successfully run by volunteers with the support of the El Gouna Management to limit the population of stray animals and keep them on the outskirts of the town not allowing new desert packs from entering. Feeding stations are located away from residential areas and on the borders of El Gouna, where dedicated feeders feed the dogs on daily basis.Dogs have two major needs - food as well as the need to procreate. The TNR approach removes their need to procreate by spaying and neutering. This way, the dogs become calmer and only have one need – food. Dedicated feeders take care of that need on daily basis at designated feeding stations. We kindly ask you  NOT  to feed any stray animals especially in residential areas. Greetings from Orascom Marine Management.   Following up on our invitation for Dolphin Code of Conduct Workshop that took place on the 26 th  of April, we would like to share with you attached information received from Red Sea Marine Park Authority in regards to special instructions for visiting areas for the purpose of dolphin watching (Shaab El Fanous, Shaab El Erg, Gottat El Dir and other sites). We urge you to follow the Dolphin CoC and the instructions attached. Unfortunately, dolphin harassment is still going on in the region and the Code of Conduct for dolphin encounters is often not followed, with many reports received. Such violations will be reported daily by the Rangers of Red Sea Marine Park Authorities to Red Sea Governorate which will result in court cases against the violators.
